Based on some of my previous posts, you might not expect a Lloyd Banks song on my playlist, but I listen to just about everything and pick and choose what I like. This song has a raw ass beat and I like the flow. Can't stop singing it. Might even sing it on stage tonight!

Shout out to Jeremih, too, out of Chicago. I partied with that dude in college a couple times when I visited U of I. He was with my girl's best friend at the time. Funny dude. Good track.

Del Tha Funkee Homosapien has always been one of my favorite rappers, and not only because he is Ice Cube's cousin and a member of the Hieroglyphics crew. He's consistenly a great emcee. I played this song every day in college summer school on the way to work at the Atlanta Ruby Tuesday's by Lennox mall. It was the only way I could get to work happy.

This needs to be on a soundtrack. Somebody make it happen. Also, what happened to Dan The Automator?

Cee Lo's album, "The Lady Killer," is a great album. The suave and husky crooner with the unique voice kills this song especially.

Definitely a song you play when you bring a girl back to the crib. But also a treat if you are home alone and drinking some cognac with a cigar. I plan on making my firstborn to this song. And I will incorporate the girl, the cognac, and the cigar in the process.

Freddie Gibbs - Oil Money

If you don't know much about Freddie Gibbs, don't feel bad. There are a lot of people like you. However, this rapper out of the place most hood Chicagoans won't even visit, Gary, Indiana, has a gigantic underground following. He not only had Pitchfork crowds lined up to see him at the 7:00 Saturday show this past summer, but he also had a sold out Metro show last weekend. This song is one of his dope ones, for the verses from everyone from Chuck Inglish to Bun B, to the great chorus sung by Dan Auerbach from The Black Keys.

Expect more from young Gibbs...

This track is no different, and its one of my favorites. Expect him to super super blow up this year. This one is kind of old, but check all his new shit out, including the smash hit, "Black and Yellow," which you probably hear whenever his home team, Pittsburgh Steelers, play.

Rockie Fresh is a dope artist that I am just now finding out about. I randomly ended up at his album release party after a holiday party I went to down the street. I got there and was blown away by how much of a following this young artist already had. He also had great stage presence and "acted like he had been there before."

This beat is insane and I'm loving every second of it. I hope to see more cuts like this from him in the future. Phil Ade and Naledge kill it, also on their features.

In the comedy world, the introduction of The Laugh Factory, an LA mainstaple, to Chicago means the industry will come here. Even though Kanye and Common are very rarely in Chicago, they still rep their city all the time. Music in this city right now is fuckin awesome.

Thats why I was so excited to see a kid I used to work with about five years ago, when I was a soccer coach yet still a 22 year old hip hop enthusiast, come through the scene and kill it. Matt & Kim @ Pitchfork 2009

Matt & Kim are really cool people. My homie Julia introduced me to them saying they were cool, and after kickin it with them, I can only agree! They gave us both free tickets to Pitchfork this year and it was fun as hell. Of course they rocked, but I got a lil out of it and checked out MF Doom, Pharoahe Monch, and The Flaming Lips and saw some of the best shit Ive ever seen. M80 was pretty dope too. Then we all went to a Peddy Cash moped party on the South Side where the homie Curt from Flosstradamus was DJing. Dancing and partying all night. Boxing ring in the basement. And Matt introduced me to their England publicist and we got along rather famously. She was very cute and a British accent will do crazy things to me. Pitchfork was real dope this year for me. I would recommend it to anyone.

Also this song is used for the NBC show "Community." Crazy. Congrats to Matt & Kim. That looks like a funny ass show.

I'm Kid Haha, rising star in comedy. Anyone can call themselves a rising star, but fuck it...I am. I started from humble beginnings in comedy, when the Student Government at my college wanted me to speak on some forums. I didn't exactly do anything at the school, so nobody knew why the fuck i was up there talking. They introduced everybody, "So & So, SGA president, So & So, activist against Nelly, So & So, leader of womens rights, and Will Miles...class of 2005." So already I just in it to have fun. And my boy Clark was on SGA so he just pretty much needed one more person to speak. I got up there, high as hell, and just ate pizza for like the first 5 minutes they were talking. Then whenever I spoke, people laughed. The more they laughed, the more I kept wantin to MAKE them laugh. Thats when I knew I was a comedian. It was a rush and I felt so good seein the crowd laugh. Thats how I got my start...now I'm documenting my rise.
